Peer Coaching
Peer coaching is an invaluable professional learning opportunity for two teachers to work together in the roles of coach and coachee.
As the coaching program relates directly to the coachee’s needs and implemented in their classroom, there is a high level of success for the coachee to transfer new learning into their daily teaching practice.
As a trained peer coach Andrea can work with individual and teams of teachers to develop and implement a coaching program.
The coaching program will be designed to cater for the needs of your school and will include:
- Andrea meeting with the coachee (teacher)to discuss and finalise the focus for the peer coaching session/s
- Andrea to act as a peer coach by observing the coachee in action and recording observations
- Andrea to meet with the coachee to initiate professional dialogue, provide feedback and set goals.
Andrea can provide ongoing support for the coachee by:
- Providing and exploring professional readings
- Modelling teaching in the classroom
- Team teaching in the classroom
- Planning weekly and term programs
- Developing an action research project
- Giving online support - professional conversations via email
- Further coaching sessions
